Terms of Use
Last updated: October 17, 2026
These terms apply to the Scanly mobile app and this website, provided by Verxion. By using Scanly you agree to them.
Using Scanly
You may use Scanly for personal and commercial purposes. You are responsible for the documents you scan and for making sure you have the right to scan, store and share them.
Purchase
Scanly is sold as a one-time purchase through the Apple App Store and Google Play. The price includes every feature; there are no subscriptions or in-app purchases. Payments, refunds and family sharing are handled by Apple or Google under their own terms.
Your content
You own everything you scan. Scanly stores your documents on your device. If you turn on cloud backup, you give us permission to store and process your documents only as needed to back them up and sync them to your devices. We claim no other rights to them.
Accounts and cloud backup
Cloud backup is optional and needs an account, created by signing in with Google or Apple. You are responsible for keeping that sign-in secure. One Scanly purchase includes 1 GB of cloud storage for the account you use it with; the app confirms the purchase with the App Store or Google Play before turning backup on.
We store backed-up documents on secure servers and work to keep the service available, but we can't guarantee it will always be available or free of data loss. Keep your own copies of documents that matter, for example by exporting them. We may suspend accounts used to break these terms or to abuse the service.
You can delete your account and everything backed up to it at any time, in the app (Settings → Account → Delete account) or at scanly.verxion.dev/delete-account. See the Privacy Policy for what we store and how long we keep it. If we ever stop offering cloud backup, we will give you at least 60 days' notice so you can make sure your documents are on your devices; the app keeps working without it.
Acceptable use
- Do not use Scanly to create forged, fraudulent or unlawful documents.
- Do not attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt or misuse the app or its services.
Store terms
If you downloaded Scanly from the Apple App Store or Google Play, the store's terms also apply. Apple and Google are not responsible for the app or its support.
No warranty
Scanly is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Text recognition and edge detection are automated and may contain errors, so check important documents before relying on them.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Verxion is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of Scanly.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. See also our Privacy Policy.
