Frequently asked questions

›Is Scanly a subscription?

No. Scanly is a one-time purchase in the App Store or Google Play. Every feature is included, with no in-app purchases and no ads.

›Can I get a refund?

Purchases and refunds are handled by Apple and Google. Request a refund through the App Store or Google Play, following their refund policies.

›Does Scanly need an internet connection?

No. Scanning, filters, text recognition and PDF export all work offline.

›Where are my documents stored?

On your device, inside the app's private storage. If you sign in to use cloud backup, they are also stored on our secure servers so you can restore them and use them on your other devices.

›What is the 1 GB of cloud storage?

Backup and sync to your other devices, included in your purchase. Open Settings → Account and sign in with Google or Apple to turn it on. Settings shows how much you've used.

›How do I delete my account and my backed-up data?

In the app, open Settings → Account → Delete account. You can also do it on the web at scanly.verxion.dev/delete-account. Your account and everything backed up to it are deleted from our servers; scans on your phone stay.

›Will my exported PDFs have a watermark?

Never.

›How do I scan both sides of an ID card onto one page?

Tap Scan, choose ID card, scan the front, then the back. Scanly places both on a single page at the card's real size, ready to print.

›How do I find a document?

Tap the search icon and type any word from its title or printed on its pages. Scanly reads the text on your scans automatically.

›I deleted a document by mistake. Can I get it back?

Yes. Open the menu on the home screen and choose Recently deleted. Documents stay there for 30 days before they are removed for good.

›What happens to my documents if I uninstall the app?

They are deleted from your phone with the app. If you use cloud backup, they stay in your account and come back when you sign in again. Otherwise, export anything you want to keep before uninstalling.
